Job summary

InventWood is seeking an experienced R&D Project Manager to own and drive the research program behind SUPERWOOD, a molecularly densified wood material. You will orchestrate study plans, milestones, and dependencies across Manufacturing, Product, and Sales, ensuring grant deliverables land on time in a high-intensity environment.

You’ll facilitate planning, track progress, and keep documentation up to date while maintaining a builder’s mindset in a hands-on lab setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience coordinating tech, engineering, lab, or hardware development work.

Responsibilities

• Owns the R&D project plan with schedules for study plans, experiments, and milestones.
• Runs the operating rhythm: planning sessions, standups, and plan reviews.
• Coordinates across Manufacturing, Product, and Sales dependencies and surfaces conflicts early.
• Tracks milestones and reporting for ARPA-E and grant-funded work.
• Manages resources and procurement timelines affecting experimental work.
• Keeps study plans, experiment records, and decisions in the team’s systems of record.
• Manages risks and escalates with options, not problems.
• Works on the lab floor to understand progress and maintain lab/production safety.
