Job summary

Sherwin‑Williams is seeking an R&D Manager, Commercial Applications to lead the IW application laboratory and drive product application, rheology, and performance optimization. You will collaborate with internal teams and customers to validate products, improve processes, and promote adoption of Industrial Wood solutions.

The role includes hands‑on trial support, training, and line audits, with travel about 20%. A bachelor’s in a STEM field and 5+ years of leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field is required.
• 5+ years of management/leadership experience in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead application laboratory and act as technical expert for product application and rheology.
• Support product development, customer implementations, testing and training.
• Provide hands‑on support during customer trials and resolve technical challenges.
• Develop and validate IW application procedures to align with audits and line checks.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure timely project completion and growth.
