Join to apply for the R&D Programmer/Set-Up Machinist role at PHB, Inc.

PHB Inc. Machining Division has a current need for a R&D Programmer/Set-Up Machinist. This is a first shift, full-time position with advancement opportunities within the company.

Responsibilities

1. Read and interpret technical blueprints and design models
2. Perform complex set-ups including creating CNC Programs, take a part from print to first piece
3. Input the product design into the computer modeling software
4. Decipher CMM Printouts and apply correct adjustments to keep part in spec
5. Build basic fixtures for production
6. Choose and load the correct cutting tools for the job
7. Adjust machine settings to desired specifications
8. Setup work area for efficient material flow
9. Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, quality control or others to resolve machining problems and optimize programs and tooling
10. Complete gage room documentation for first piece approval
11. Possess a complete knowledge of machine tool and control functions
12. Troubleshoot problems in manufacturing
13. Train employees to operate CNC equipment and set-up basics
14. Complete or update setup instructions and/or work instructions, tooling sheets, etc.

Requirements

1. High school diploma or GED
2. Previous work experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing setting
3. Experience with Mastercam software
4. Experience with Mazak and Okuma
5. Ability to read and interpret design blueprints
6. Extensive experience with computer modeling software
7. Strong attention to detail
8. Ability to work independently and stick to a deadline
9. Ability to work after-hours when required
