Job summary

Sharpvue is seeking a hands-on R&D and Product Development Assistant to support engineering and product teams as they research, prototype, test, and launch new security solutions. The role is based at the R&D facility and involves full development-cycle work from research to launch.

You will research components and suppliers, build and test prototypes, run product tests, and maintain detailed records, BOMs, and design notes while coordinating with vendors and preparing internal documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with hardware — tools, electronics, assembly, and testing.
• Good written and verbal communication; able to document work clearly.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable with spreadsheets and basic technical software.

Responsibilities

• Research new components, technologies, suppliers, and competitor products.
• Help build, assemble, and test prototypes in the lab and in the field.
• Run product tests, record results, and document findings clearly.
• Maintain organized records: BOMs, spec sheets, test logs, design notes, and documentation.
• Assist with sourcing parts, tracking samples, and coordinating with vendors.
• Help prepare product specs, manuals, and internal documentation.
• Support quality checks and troubleshooting on new and existing products.
