Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. seeks a Product Excellence Manager to drive product definition and support in the nVision system. You will ensure code compliance, develop technical documentation, and communicate product criteria across internal teams and external partners.

The role leads engineers and product specialists, coordinates with management and customers, and ensures acceptance of products requiring testing and code agency approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis.
• Registered Professional Engineer (US state).
• 15 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of codes and standards.
• Basic knowledge of product, professional, and business liabilities.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Vision and interdependencies with other software and functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, testing, development, and modification of company products and their definition into the engineering system to meet economic, code compliance, certification compliance, and quality requirements.
• Hire and manage Engineers and Product Specialists and schedule for efficient production of work.
• Ensure timely and accurate response to product or procedural inquiries from management and customers.
• Ensure proper and timely communication of product requirements and developed procedures with affected managers and employees.
• Represent the company’s interests and assure company compliance with technical organizations’ requirements including MBMA, AISC, AISI, AWS, CWB, and others.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis)

Registered Professional Engineer (US state)

Engineering registration in Canadian Province
