Job summary

BD is a global medical technology leader seeking an R&D Procurement Manager for its Pharmacy Automation division. The role partners with Advanced Procurement Engineers, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to drive procurement-enabled innovation through the product development lifecycle.

You will lead prototype sourcing, supplier qualification, and partnerships to accelerate product development, identify emerging technologies, optimize supplier networks, and ensure a smooth transition

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field.
5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Development, or related areas.
Proven track record in supplier scouting, qualification, development, and optimization.
Ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

Serve as an embedded procurement partner within cross-functional development teams, enabling procurement-driven innovation.
Engage suppliers early in the design process to leverage technical expertise and manufacturing capabilities.
Drive rapid prototyping and supplier collaboration to shorten development cycles and support faster commercialization.
Develop and maintain a global network of suppliers for automation, mechanics, electronics, and advanced manufacturing.
Lead market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and supplier transitions to improve cost, quality, and delivery.
