Job summary

HORIBA's North American Semiconductor group in Reno, NV seeks an experienced R&D Technician to build and operate a Plasma laboratory, perform leak checks on vacuum systems, and troubleshoot test equipment to ensure smooth operation.

You will work under Engineers, perform fabrication tasks, maintain equipment, and contribute to test setups and modifications, leveraging expertise in RF, high voltage safety, and gas delivery systems in semiconductor contexts.

Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication and/or procurement of medium to high‑vacuum systems and chamber components.
• Knowledge of high frequency (kHz to GHz) power supplies, low temperature plasma generation systems, matching networks.
• Pumping systems competency: rotary, scroll, roots, turbomolecular, cryogenic.
• Versed in vacuum and gas system instrumentation (mass flow controllers, RGA).
• High competency in RF, high voltage, and general electrical power safety.
• Safety knowledge with positive pressure gas delivery systems used in semiconductor environments.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of Engineers, build and operate a Plasma laboratory.
• Perform leak checking for vacuum integrity and troubleshooting of vacuum systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of testing equipment and instruments to ensure operational efficiency.
• Weld pipes and fabricate parts as required for testing setups or equipment modification.
