Job summary

General Mills in Minneapolis is seeking an R&D Packaging Engineer as part of its Leadership Development Program. You will gain hands-on experience in packaging design, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will develop technical and business skills, with mentorship, and contribute to creating sustainable packaging solutions while relocation support may be available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Packaging Science/Engineering or Material Science/Engineering or related degree.
• Graduating Winter 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Strong academic record.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic projects or activities.
• Willingness to relocate (if applicable) and participate in a development program.

Responsibilities

• Create new, improve existing, and eliminate waste from packaging and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal partners to build and grow our businesses.
• Engage external partners to increase efficiency and identify new capabilities.
• Interact with consumers and customers to develop insights and translate them into concepts, prototypes, and commercial offerings.
