Job summary

General Mills is offering a Research & Development Packaging Engineer Internship in Minneapolis, MN. You'll design packaging solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and engage with external partners to drive innovations and sustainability in consumer packaging.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Packaging Science/Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering.
• Graduating in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Strong academic record; results-oriented with technical and business mindset.
• Adaptability, curiosity, inventiveness.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional demeanor.
• Leadership experience in academic projects or work experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design packaging solutions delivering on moments of truth, shelf remarkability and end-of-life circularity.
• Collaborate with business and Sales to apply consumer insights.
• Create, improve, and eliminate waste from packaging and processes.
• Work with cross-functional partners to grow the business.
• Engage external partners to increase efficiency and identify capabilities.
• Interact with consumers/customers to translate insights into concepts and offerings.
• Develop technical depth and business acumen.
• Apply or build digital tools to accelerate learning.
• Solve technical problems leveraging new or existing digital tools.
