Job summary

ABB is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Elastimold MV Solid Dielectric Switchgear R&D team. You will contribute to design and development, applying mechanical engineering expertise to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions that meet customer requirements.

You will develop production drawings in Creo, support component sourcing, and perform structural analysis to validate design choices while aligning with project targets for quality, schedule, and cost.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of mechanical engineering experience with sheet metal, welding and fabrication.
• Proficiency in Creo CAD for 3D/2D design and BOM development.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and production drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support Elastimold MV Switchgear R&D design and development activities.
• Develop sound, cost-conscious mechanical designs meeting quality and manufacturability standards.
• Create design concepts and production drawings using Creo; assist sourcing and documentation.
• Perform structural analysis using simulation tools to validate design decisions.
