Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking an experienced R&D engineer to contribute to developing non-arc resistant medium-voltage switchgear in Miles, North Carolina. This onsite role offers the opportunity to bring innovative solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, a minimum of 2 years of R&D experience, and proficiency in SolidWorks. Join ABB and help shape the future of electrification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of R&D experience in the electrical power equipment industry required.
• Experience in the mechanical design of Low or Medium Voltage ANSI switchgear.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, UL).

Responsibilities

• Support the development of new product designs for switchgear.
• Engage in cost optimization and design enhancements.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers during product development.
