CONMED is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III for the Advanced Surgical division in Denver, CO, focused on developing minimally invasive technologies. You will design, test, and bring to market disposable and capital medical products, guiding them through the full product development lifecycle with a strong emphasis on manufacturing readiness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or related field
• 5+ years of engineering work experience (3+ years with a related Master’s degree) with 3-D CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing creation
• Experience designing for manufacturing (machining, injection molding, and assembly)
• Experience with statistics and data analysis techniques
• Experience applying structured problem-solving methods such as root cause analysis, DOE, and FMEA
• Strong working knowledge of design controls and medical device development processes
• Experience developing new products from concept through commercialization

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support medical products for surgical procedures
• Independently execute multiple phases of the product development lifecycle from design to manufacturing
• Perform design analyses including tolerance analyses and stress calculations
• Develop and execute test protocols, analyze results, and write technical reports
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to translate requirements into practical engineering solutions
• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting with cross-functional teams
• Mentor less experienced engineers
