Job summary

CONMED seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Advanced Surgical R&D team in the Denver area. You will lead the development of software for complex medical devices across the full product lifecycle, influencing architecture and development standards in a fast-paced environment.

Hybrid work in the Denver metro area is available with relocation assistance for qualified candidates. The role emphasizes technical leadership, secure software design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Experience designing software for regulated or safety-critical systems.
• Strong background in C/C++ and embedded software development.
• Demonstrated leadership of significant software subsystems or architectures in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of software applications and subsystems across the full product development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation, verification, deployment, and post-market support.
• Provide technical leadership in embedded and application software design, contributing to system architecture for safety- and quality-critical medical devices.
• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software systems for complex medical devices.
• Lead in designing and developing a secure system architecture to ensure product security, safety, and effectiveness per IEC 81001-5-1 and IEC 62304.
• Lead development of software verification strategies, including test plans, protocols, and reports in compliance with applicable regulatory standard.
• Collaborate cross functionally to support design transfer, manufacturing release, and post-release product support.
