Graham Personnel Services seeks an experienced R&D Manufacturing Engineer - Advanced Engineering in Indiana to lead stamping and metal-forming initiatives for beverage ends, tabs, and can components.

This hands-on role requires strong troubleshooting, GD&T, equipment ownership, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and suppliers. Relocation assistance is provided and a 15% bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related press/stamping experience.
• Hands-on stamping press operation and maintenance experience.
• Experience with press setup and tooling alignment.
• Metal-forming experience.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Beverage end, tab, food-can, or similar high-speed metal-forming experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the setup, operation, alignment, troubleshooting, and optimization of stamping and conversion presses.
• Support tooling, dies, fixtures, and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot press, tooling, dimensional, and metal-forming issues.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment readiness through preventive maintenance, calibration, spare-parts planning, and documentation.
• Run R&D and laboratory trials supporting new alloys, coatings, forming processes, qualification programs, and customer problem solving.
• Manufacture production-representative test samples.
• Document equipment settings, test conditions, measurements, deviations, and results.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, setup sheets, work instructions, test methods, and training documentation.
• Work cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, EH&S, suppliers, coating companies, can manufacturers, and customers.

Graham Personnel Services is seeking an experienced R&D Manufacturing Engineer - Advanced Engineering for a highly specialized manufacturing opportunity with a leading aluminum manufacturer.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands stamping presses, tooling, metal forming, and manufacturing process troubleshooting. The engineer will serve as the equipment and process owner for press systems used to manufacture beverage ends, tabs, and food-can components in an advanced engineering/R&D environment.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
• Approximately 5+ years of related press/stamping experience
• Strong hands-on stamping press operation and maintenance experience
• Experience with press setup and tooling alignment
• Metal-forming experience
• GD&T knowledge
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Beverage end, tab, food-can, or similar high-speed metal-forming experience highly preferred

Compensation & Relocation
