Antares is seeking an R&D Machinist I in Torrance, CA to support prototyping, machining, and assembly for next-generation nuclear systems. You will set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines, troubleshoot tooling, and ensure documentation quality.

The role requires reading G-code and GD&T and involves working with graphite, stainless, and high-temperature alloys. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and experience with Fanuc controllers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Able to read G-code and engineering drawings (GD&T).
• Experience machining stainless steel, exotic alloys (Inconel), or graphite preferred.

Responsabilités

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot multi-axis CNC mills (3, 4, 5-axis) and/or live tooling lathes for development hardware and test fixtures.
• Monitor, replace, and re-set cutting tools.
• Perform deburring on parts as necessary.
• Provide feedback to engineering to improve manufacturability of various components.
• Complete work instructions and other process documentation.
• Work across graphite, stainless, and high-temp alloys.
