Job summary

Socket.dev in Newark, DE is seeking an experienced R&D machining engineer to prototype, CAD/CAM, FEA, and manufacture prototypes from advanced materials. Lead a small team of engineers and technicians, supervise, plan, and transfer successful products to manufacturing.

Responsibilities include programming for MasterCam, CMM, and generating outputs with Creo/SolidWorks, and interfacing with customers and suppliers. On-site role with 40 hours/week, and adherence to quality and ISO standards.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or BS in same fields with 3+ years of experience.
• RelAvant certifications such as CAM, CAD, GD&T, ISO, Black Belt, CMM, Lean/Kaizen are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead machining related functions for R&D, including CAD, CAM, CMM programming, other
• Machining prototypes from advanced composite materials (ceramics, composites)
• Perform equipment programming in MasterCAM, PC-DIMS, Calypso, MX
• Generate PC-based outputs on Agile, Oracle, Cumulus, Creo, Solidworks
• Participate in prototyping activities with design, planning, scheduling and customer interface
• Interface with customers, tooling suppliers, equipment vendors and test labs
• Participate in Lean/Kaizen events to improve efficiency and quality
• Transfer successful products to Manufacturing with training and documentation
