Job summary

BD, a global leader in medical technology, is seeking an experienced R&D Lead for New Product Development. The role centers on driving product engineering initiatives, leading major programs, and developing robust solutions using design of experiments and analytical methods.

The candidate will work on in vivo/in vitro model development, design verification/validation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality and timely delivery in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
• Strong technical judgment and extensive technical leadership skills.
• Knowledge of diagnostic platforms in Core Laboratory and ability to develop solutions addressing instrument compatibility needs.
• Demonstrated capability of leading R&D product development/lifecycle projects.
• Experience in guiding teams to develop technical solutions to complex problems.
• Sound knowledge of engineering first principles.
• DFSS/ Six Sigma experience and phase-gate development process understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead as R&D on new product development and product engineering initiatives.
• Guide major programs and potentially act as project leader.
• Develop technical solutions using experimental, computational, and analytical methods.
• Design and develop in vivo/in vitro models to evaluate product features.
• Plan, execute, and analyze design of experiments (DOE).
• Perform data analysis and present results to peers and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with BD quality policies through training and communication.
• Coordinate vendor interactions and materials specifications.
