Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a hands-on R&D Laboratory Technician in Ashtabula, OH to support the development of refractory products and processes. You will prepare laboratory batches, run tests, and communicate results to project teams.

You have an Associate degree and 2+ years of lab experience, proficiency with Office apps, and a strong eye for detail and safety in both lab and industrial settings. This on-site role offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemistry, Ceramics, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of laboratory testing, quality, manufacturing, or materials experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory batches, samples, and test specimens per project requirements.
• Assist with laboratory-scale and pilot-scale trials for new products.
• Execute test plans and communicate results to project teams.
• Perform density, porosity, LOI, MOR, and microscopy sample prep testing.
• Maintain sample I.D., traceability, and storage records.
• Ensure compliance with ASTM, ISO, and internal standards.
