Exciting opportunity for an R&D Lab Tech to join a chemical company near the Horsham, PA area.

MISSION: To support R&D, Tech Service, and QC Lab activities, along with other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS/BA in Chemistry (or related sciences) or completion of General Chemistry I and II, combined with relevant experience.

Skills:

• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow procedures
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
• Ability to climb ladders and catwalks as needed
• Able to work indoors and outdoors

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:

• Perform lab tests following ISO 9001 procedures
• Adhere to laboratory safety practices
• Document and report internal and supplier quality incidents
• Maintain data in lab notebooks or electronically in D3FO
• Organize and control work areas, including high-density storage and lab spaces
• Perform calibrations as assigned
• Retrieve data from the business management system (D3FO)
• Operate basic instrumentation: pH meter, densitometer, moisture analyzer, solid percentage
• Operate advanced instrumentation: FTIR, gas chromatography
• Work overtime and weekends if necessary
• Perform other QC and R&D responsibilities as assigned

R & D:

• Conduct stability tests (weight checks)
• Perform routine product testing with guidance from Product Development Manager/Chemists
• Fill special sample orders for customers
• Support answering technical line inquiries
• Perform additional R&D tasks as assigned

Quality Control:

• Test packaging materials
• Test raw materials and batches, and record results in D3FO
