Position Summary

The Lab Tech will perform both routine and specialized sample preparation and analysis. The role is crucial in supporting scientists, engineers, and the R&D department in developing new products and testing new ingredients and processes. Responsibilities include assisting in testing, data collection and analysis, and general lab maintenance.

NOTE: This position is scheduled for 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, Wednesday - Saturday, with initial training on the 1st Shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Lab Manager to ensure the ongoing quality of raw materials and finished goods.
• Perform daily lab operations in a production facility, including sample collection, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining instruments.
• Perform sample analysis promptly, adhering to analytical holding times and project deadlines.
• Keep accurate documentation of all sample data and analytical conditions.
• Conduct and document daily calibration checks and routine equipment maintenance.
• Maintain records accurately, neatly, and completely to meet quality and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager for safe handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
• Manage inventory levels of lab supplies based on sample volume.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safety awareness.

IDEAL CANDIDATE SKILLS

• At least 1 year of experience in an analytical/QC lab role, preferably in a production environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science field, with industry experience.
• Proficient in basic lab techniques, including following protocols, pipetting, etc.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic production environment.
• Effective time management and planning skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; advanced MS Office skills are a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual skills are a plus.

SCHEDULE

• Wednesday – Saturday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Training: M-F, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM until training is complete (for training only).

COMPENSATION

Pay rate from $25/hr, based on experience.
