Job summary

Canon Recruiting is seeking an R&D Supervisor to lead a lab team in a fast-paced medical device setting at Arbor Lakes, MN. The role emphasizes leadership, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration with Design Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing.

The candidate will drive method development, testing, and verification activities, and ensure compliance with quality requirements while building capabilities and strategic plans to support product development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in R&D, laboratory operations, testing, method development, analytical sciences, quality, or a related technical field within a regulated environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, including team leadership, project leadership, or technical leadership.
• Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of laboratory personnel through coaching, mentoring, employee development, and fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Establish priorities and allocate resources to ensure successful execution of laboratory testing, method development, and project deliverables.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations to support high-quality testing, appropriate resource utilization, and compliance with applicable quality requirements.
• Develop and maintain laboratory capabilities, infrastructure, and resource plans to support evolving business needs.
• Support capital planning, equipment strategy, and laboratory investments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, customer experience, and operational performance.
• Develop, monitor, and communicate laboratory operational metrics, project status, and resource capacity to management and stakeholders.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including, Design Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Process Development, Manufacturing, Clinical, and Quality.
