Job summary

Canon Recruiting is seeking an R&D Supervisor for a 12‑month, full-time assignment at Arbor Lakes, MN. The role leads a laboratory team in a fast-paced medical device environment, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while driving product development support and design verification activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical base in chemistry/biology, solid leadership experience, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in R&D, laboratory operations, testing, method development, analytical sciences, quality, or a related field in a regulated environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience, including team leadership, project leadership, or technical leadership.
• Experience working in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of laboratory personnel through coaching and mentoring.
• Establish priorities and allocate resources to ensure successful laboratory testing and project deliverables.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure high-quality testing and compliant processes.
• Develop and maintain laboratory capabilities and resource plans to support evolving business needs.
• Support capital planning, equipment strategy, and laboratory investments.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Develop and communicate laboratory metrics, status, and capacity to management.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Design Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Process Development, Manufacturing, Clinical, and Quality.
