Job summary

Protech Group in York, PA, is seeking an experienced R&D Laboratory Chemist / Lead Formulator to develop and optimize coatings and specialty materials. You will collaborate with production and QA to scale formulations while maintaining quality.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s in chemistry or related field, 3–5 years of lab experience, and strong communication skills. Competitive salary, medical/dental, RRSP, and growth into senior roles are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3–5 years of laboratory experience ideal, preferably in R&D.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in coatings, adhesives or polymer manufacturing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and development projects to innovate and improve products.
• Lead the implementation of good laboratory practices to ensure compliance and safety.
• Analyze experimental results and propose actionable improvements.
• Provide technical support to the R&D, QC, and Sales departments.
• Conduct testing on raw materials and finished products
• Assist in the development and formulation of Thermoplastic coatings and Specialty Materials.
• Collect, record, and analyze data to support product development and quality assurance
• Work closely with R&D Technicians, QA and production teams
• Maintain a clean and safe lab environment
