Job summary

Vitro Architectural Glass is seeking an R&D Engineer to build, maintain and enhance laboratory and plant equipment, and to develop new experimental methods in support of R&D and non-R&D customers.

The role involves coordinating with facilities, designing cost-effective, manufacturable solutions and leading HOSHIN-level projects focused on improvements in safety, quality and cost. Strong coding and instrumentation skills are valued.

Qualifications

• AS/GED with 14+ years relevant experience or AS in technical field with 10+ years relevant experience.
• BS in technical field with 3+ years relevant experience; MS entry level with related degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to plan, organize and share information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve laboratory and plant equipment.
• Design and test prototypes of equipment and analyze components.
• Lead and manage projects focused on product/process improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop instrumentation and data interfaces.
• Draft technical documents, reports and manuals for devices and training.
