Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC is seeking a Scientist I – R&D Immunology & Flow Cytometry to conduct flow cytometry studies and contribute to assay development. You will perform sample prep, staining, data analysis, and optimize multicolor panels while supporting validation activities and scientific reporting.

This role requires a Ph.D. with several years of experience, strong communication, and a proactive approach to collaborative research in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in Life Sciences or related field.
• 3+ years of experience with flow cytometry, experimental design, assay optimization, or data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform flow cytometry experiments, including sample preparation, staining, acquisition, and data analysis
• Assist with development and validation of new assays, including immunodeficiency testing, and MRD applications
• Analyze experimental results, troubleshoot assay performance, and contribute to scientific decision-making
• Develop and optimize multicolor flow cytometry panels and gating strategies
• Support analytical validation activities, including precision, stability, method comparisons, and assay performance evaluations
• Perform literature reviews and apply scientific knowledge to support assay development activities
• Maintain accurate experimental documentation, protocols, and reports
• Collaborate with scientists, clinical laboratory teams, and cross-functional partners
• Present project updates and scientific findings to team members and leadership
