Job summary

Okta is seeking a seasoned operations leader to run the financial and workforce engine for its Product & Technology organization (ORD) and Auth0. This role sits hub-based in SF, Seattle, or Chicago, with commutable distance required to one office and in-office presence several days weekly.

You will own budget governance, P&L framework, AI spend modeling, and capitalized software/tax credit activities, partnering with FP&A, Recruiting, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of work experience in technology operations or FP&A.
• 6+ years leading business operations, R&D/engineering operations, or FP&A in tech.
• Ownership of an engineering or R&D budget at scale with governance.
• Workforce planning and headcount governance in partnership with Recruiting/Finance.
• Vendor portfolio management incl. contracts, SLA, and capacity planning.
• Capitalized Software accounting and US/Canada R&D tax credits experience.
• Strong understanding of B2B SaaS cost structures and data analysis.
• Experience applying AI to finance, analytics, dashboards and automation.

Responsibilities

• Own budget and workforce strategy for ORD and Auth0.
• Govern R&D budget, program spend, governance, and exec reviews.
• Own and evolve P&L framework for R&D lines of business.
• Model and optimize AI token spend with engineering leaders.
• Lead engineering cost modelling with FP&A and Deal Desk.
• Own financial compliance for R&D incl. Capitalized Software and tax credits.
• Build and maintain P&T cost data platform on Snowflake.
• Set fiscal year workforce strategy with Recruiting.
• Oversee contingent workforce and vendor operations.
• Drive AI-first operations and develop Director-level leaders.
