Function Health is seeking a highly analytical Finance Manager, R&D to partner with our R&D teams and translate complex technical inputs into accurate forecasts and budgets. You will build models, monitor performance, and deliver actionable insights to leadership.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in FP&A, Financial Operations, or related finance role.
• Experience partnering with technical/operational teams (R&D, Engineering, Product, Data, AI/ML).
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; advanced Excel/Sheets.
• Experience owning budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances, maintaining forecast accuracy.

Responsibilities

• R&D Finance Business Partnership: support budgeting, forecasting, planning, reporting.
• Forecasting & Budgeting: own detailed forecasts and budgets for the R&D organization.
• Performance Reporting & Insights: improve forecast accuracy with stakeholders.
• Financial Modeling: build models for new products, technologies, and initiatives.
• Headcount Planning: model hiring and track spend vs budget/forecast.
• Executive & Leadership Reporting: prepare reports for leadership and boards.
• Operational Finance & Variance Management: track performance vs forecast; update assumptions.
• Process Building & Improvement: improve budgeting, forecasting, and reporting workflows.
• Planning Systems & Tools: rollout and optimize budgeting/planning systems.
• Cross-Functional Execution: coordinate with Finance, People, R&D, Product, etc.
• AI-Forward Finance: apply AI to finance processes to improve efficiency.
