Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an R&D Engineering Systems Co‑op in Waltham, MA. The role offers hands‑on experience across mechanical, electrical, software and catheter engineering while collaborating with marketing, regulatory and quality teams.

You will contribute to system requirements, risk analysis and verification activities from concept through commercialization, supporting cross‑functional deliverables during the 2027 term.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate‑level degree in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering with expected graduation Fall 2027 to Spring 2028.
• Proficiency in MATLAB programming.
• Strong understanding of hardware/software systems.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Transportation to 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA is required.

Responsibilities

• Define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows and I/O processes using current systems engineering methods.
• Troubleshoot system problems by analyzing situations and recommending actions.
• Document system architecture and design control elements via technical documents and memos.
• Translate customer needs into technical requirements with cross‑functional teams.
• Define, troubleshoot and execute testing for system design and verification activities.
• Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC per IEC 60601‑1.
• Support risk analysis activities for projects.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver project objectives.
