Job summary

Boston Scientific in Waltham, MA, is seeking an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op to join an interdisciplinary team spanning mechanical, electrical, software and catheter engineering. You will help define system requirements, analyze clinical workflows and support verification activities from concept through commercialization.

This onsite co-op runs Jan 2027 through Aug/Sept 2027, with collaboration across marketing, regulatory and quality.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or electrical engineering.
Proficiency in MATLAB programming.
Strong understanding of hardware/software systems.
Available for full duration Jan 11 – Aug 6 or Aug 13, 2027.
Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Help define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows and I/O processes.
Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending actions.
Document system architecture and design control elements.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate customer needs into requirements.
Define, troubleshoot, and execute testing for system design and verification.
Assist with IEC 60601-1 safety and EMC standards testing.
Support risk analysis activities for projects.
Partner with teams to deliver project objectives.
