Job summary

SIG SAUER, Inc. is seeking an Intern, Research & Development for the spring 2027 semester (January–April). You will assist in firearm component design, create CAD models with SolidWorks, and work with engineers and technicians in a team setting.

The role requires pursuing a BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, basic CAD/Office skills, and clear written and spoken English; relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with CAD/SolidWorks preferred.
• Basic report writing and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word required.
• Familiarity with range safety and ISO procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models using SolidWorks; update existing designs.
• Assist in preparation of engineering drawings.
• Process design change orders.
• Assist in tests and experiments; analyze data.
• Prepare detailed test reports.
• Support prototype part fabrication and inventory management.
• Follow 5S and ISO procedures; comply with safety rules.
