Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking an R&D Engineer Membranes to advance our TPO membrane product lines and lead development from lab-scale to manufacturing readiness. You will design experiments, analyze data, and contribute to product development strategies.

You will mentor junior scientists while progressing toward an Associate Scientist role, collaborating across R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to deliver innovative materials for commercial buildings worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years progressive R&D/laboratory experience.
• Experience with polymer testing, formulation or membrane characterization preferred.
• Strong experimental, analytical, statistical, communication, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments for TPO membrane materials following SOPs.
• Perform and oversee physical, mechanical, and chemical testing per ASTM standards.
• Lead TPO formulation studies including polymer blending and pigment systems.
• Support pilot-scale trials and extrusion/compounding processes understanding.
• Support quality testing, raw material evaluations, and plant troubleshooting with teams.
• Analyze data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to teams.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to training.
