Job summary
Henkel's Adhesive Technologies team in Minnesota is seeking an enthusiastic R&D engineer to advance new thermally conductive silicone-free composites for eMobility and automotive electronics. You will contribute to adhesive formulations, surface treatments, and particle technology while collaborating across development projects.
This onsite role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, 2+ years in R&D, knowledge of polymer science, and experience with product
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- 2+ years of work experience in research and development
- Knowledge of polymer science and structure–property relationships
- Technical knowledge in adhesive chemistries, composite materials, polymer network physics, and/or resin cure chemistry
- Familiarity with product development processes and stage gate reviews
- Knowledge of MS Office, LabVIEW, AutoCAD or similar drawing software and statistics tools
Responsibilities
- Assist in R&D for new product introductions of thermally conductive silicone free composites for the eMobility and automotive electronics markets
- Adhesive formulations, surface treatment applications, particle technology, and liquid dispensable compositions/coatings for new thermal interface products
- Assist multiple development projects from initiation through hand-off to manufacturing scale-up
- Translates customer and market feedback into technical specifications and develops product formulations and applicable data packages
- Generates intellectual property in the form of patents, trade secrets, and formulation know-how
- Contributes actively to a safe work culture by applying and contributing to safety procedures and lab safety systems.
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- This is a fully onsite role, requiring the selected candidate to work in the office 5 days per week
