Reporting Line

This position reports to the R&D/Technology Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the ELSP (Smart Power) Business, specifically the NEMA enclosed ATS Agile Team within the Distribution & Energy Management (DEM) Agile Unit. You will implement innovative product solutions to provide value to customers and succeed in the market.

The work model is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid

The role covers three locations: Bloomfield, CT; Senatobia, MS; and Mebane, NC. The candidate will start in either Bloomfield or Senatobia, stay for a year, then have the opportunity to relocate to the next location for another year, until a final permanent location is decided after working in all three.

Main Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong leadership and experience in technical fundamentals, quality, safety, compliance, and new product introduction.
• Perform tasks across mechanics, electronics, thermal, and software domains, from concept to testing and technology transfer.
• Understand key drivers in ABB's business/technology areas to contribute to results and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Follow-up and improve activities and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Power, or similar, with at least 5+ years' experience in electrical distribution product development.
• Experience with manufacturing implementation, design documentation, Creo, Windchill preferred.
• Expertise in product and solution testing, working with global labs and certification agencies.
• Knowledge of switches, transfer switches, circuit breakers, electrical panels, and related standards (UL, IEC, IEEE).
• LEAN and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
• Up to 5% domestic travel, international travel rare.
• Must already have work authorization to work in the US for ABB.
