Job summary

Ethicon, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson Medtech company in Raritan, NJ, is recruiting a Summer 2027 R&D Intern for wound closure and healing. You will join a collaborative team of scientists and engineers developing antibacterial technologies and cardiovascular surgery solutions.

The internship requires ongoing university enrollment, full-time on-site work, and strong communication. Eligible interns receive company benefits and exposure to a broad range of medical device platforms.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Actively enrolled in an accredited university for the duration of the internship
• Completion of at least the first year of an undergraduate program
• GPA 3.0+ preferred
• Discipline preferences: Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design key project studies with teams
• Test and characterize prototype devices and competitive products
• Write test protocols and final reports; document meeting minutes
• Collaborate with engineers and outside suppliers on project activities
• Hands-on lab work in engineering laboratories; machining for medical devices
• Attend Voice-of-Customer labs with surgeons
