Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon division in Raritan, NJ, is recruiting for a Summer 2027 R&D Intern in Wound Closure and Healing. Join a team of scientists and engineers supporting new product development focused on antibacterial technologies and cardiovascular surgery.

Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program is required, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred. This on-site internship runs May/June to August 2027, 40 hours per week, with strong emphasis on documentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited university for the duration of the internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to relocate to work on site in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Design key project studies with teams.
• Test and characterize prototype devices and competitive products.
• Document protocols, generate final reports, and prepare meeting minutes.
• Collaborate with engineers and external suppliers on project activities.
• Hands-on lab work in engineering labs; operate machining processes for device builds.
• Participate in Voice-of-Customer labs with surgeons.
