Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. in the United States is seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer II to advance design for manufacturability, drive TRL planning, and collaborate across Sales, Automation, Quality, and Engineering.

This role offers ownership of proto mold strategies and direct engagement with customers to ensure manufacturability and performance. You will lead proto mold and pilot automation efforts, specify tooling, support quotes for prototypes, and help deliver new molding

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in development or engineering roles (or 7+ with HS diploma)
• Proficiency in a 3D CAD package (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Siemens NX, or equivalent)
• Experience with medical device quality systems (FDA/ISO) preferred
• Strong attention to detail and systematic problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Own full development programs from proto mold/demold strategy to lab operations and pilot automation
• Define and drive DFM strategy for proto-mold and production opportunities, including tooling specifications
• Collaborate with customers to define requirements and deliver clear reports documenting TRL readiness
• Serve as SME and primary technical interface with customers through TRL 1–3 and support ongoing R&D after transition to automation
