Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. is seeking a Process Engineer to work with Plant and Cell Managers to optimize production processes and drive continuous improvement. You will analyze metrics, implement changes, and collaborate across departments to achieve efficiency and quality goals.

Responsibilities include selecting molding machines, qualifying tooling, and leading tooling improvements, with a focus on cost savings, CAPA investigations, and training staff on quality standards and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in the plastics or injection molding sector.
  • Injection molding experience required including insert molding, rotary molding, stack molding; LSR molding desired.
  • Experience with setting up and troubleshooting molding machines and tooling.
  • Multi cavity tooling experience (up to 128 cavities).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and maintenance documents; maintain master process sheets.
  • Prior production-related training or certifications (PIV, Set Up, Process Technician) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other departments to maximize efficiency and meet goals.
  • Collaborate with Tooling Engineers to maximize tooling efficiency and resolve tooling issues.
  • Select molding machines and automation for each job; qualify tools and conduct trials; engage with customers; apply SIM principles.
  • Assess production equipment and reports to identify cost savings and efficiency gains, including labor adjustments and automation.
  • Drive continuous improvement: reduce scrap, CAPA investigations, and optimize processes.
  • Train cell personnel on quality requirements, customer expectations, mold/part details, and production needs.

Your Role at Tessy

The Process Engineer works collectively with Plant Managers, Cell Managers, and other relevant parties to assess and optimize existing production-related processes and workflows. They analyze and track various metrics to foster continuous improvement and problem resolution and initiate change in collaboration with management and pertinent departments.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that goals are met and to maximize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Tooling Engineers to maximize tooling efficiency, Engineers to offer solutions/ideas for problematic tooling issues.
  • Responsible for the selection of appropriate molding machines and automation for any given job, as well as tool qualification and debug, trials and customer interaction and applying SIM principles to achieve optimum process conditions.
  • Assess production equipment and company documents/reports (I.e., Cost Sheets, Corrective Action reports and daily production reports) to find potential cost savings and potential efficiencies. To include labor adjustments and possible automation of production.
  • Continuous improvements – scrap reduction, CAPA investigations and optimizing processes.
  • Train personnel within their cell with regards to the quality requirements, customer expectations, mold/part details and any other additional production requirements.
What You’ll Bring
  • College Degree preferred in a relevant field (Plastics Engineering/Polymer Science) with 5+ years of Manufacturing experience. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience is required.
  • Injection molding experience required. Insert molding, rotary molding, stack molding, medical molding. LSR molding experience desired.
  • Familiarity with engineering grade reins and microprocessor-controlled machines, as well as setting up machines, programming, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Machine savvy with: Sumitomo’s, ENGELS, Arburg’s, Husky and Sodick desired.
  • Multi cavity tooling experience from single cavity to 128 cavity.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and SOPs. Be able to upkeep master process sheets.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables in working situations.
  • Previous production related training/certifications PIV, Set Up and/or Process Technician preferred.
Compensation

Salary Range: $100,000–$130,000.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.
