Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. is seeking a Project Engineer III to lead equipment selection, qualification, and program launches for complex injection molding and assembly projects.

You will work with internal and external customers and vendors, oversee tooling specifications, ensure quality and production policies are met, and help bring new programs from inception to validated production. Candidates should have 10+ years in injection molding design, CAD proficiency, and strong math and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in injection molding design with hot runner systems.
• Proficient in CAD and molding analysis software; comfortable with CAD environments.
• Strong math skills and ability to analyze data to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production and Quality to trial tools and establish operations.
• Follow tooling performance and drive quality and efficiency.
• Provide quotes for new molds and supply engineering support to Sales.

Your Role at Tessy

As Project Engineer III you will work collaboratively with internal customers, external customers and vendors to meet customer requirements. You are responsible for specifying, acquiring and qualifying the equipment necessary to produce parts or perform assembly functions to meet customer requirements. You’ll ensure all quality and production policies and procedures are met during operations. Will additionally be primarily responsible for applying the engineering department resources to effectively concept and launch new programs from inception through validated production. You will monitor new programs for any high-level issues and mitigate by providing guidance to the project team. May also be called upon by the sales department to assist from a technical aspect in procuring new programs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Responsible for determining specifications for the injection molding, blow molding and/or secondary tooling for production and/or assembly.
• Must work closely with Production and Quality departments to trial tools, obtain part approval and/or establish manufacturing operations.
• Follow up on tooling performance driving production runs to ensure quality and efficiency are maintained.
• Work collaboratively with the Sales department in order to provide quotes for new molds and provide engineering/technical support as needed.
• Maintain financial control of projects to ensure that expectations are met.
• Work with customers to ensure that requirements are met. Provide support with design for manufacturability.
• Responsible for managing and utilizing the resources of the engineering department to successfully implement directives from the executive management.
• Work with Level I-II to ensure program concepts are optimized for Tessy and its customers.
• Provide high level guidance to the project team

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant coursework. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Technology.
• 10+ years’ experience in injection molding design utilizing hot runner systems and CAD, apprenticeship papers in tool making and 10+ years in custom injection molding experience preferred.
• Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Office & Molding Analysis Software.
• Ability to gather and analyze information, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Work with part weight, geometric formulas and molding parameters.
• Possess attention for detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Must apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Read, analyze & interpret data to identify and resolve problems.
• Possess a strong understanding of Math to include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to working situations.

Compensation

Salary Range: $120,000–$150,000.
