SUMMARY
Seeking an outstanding candidate to join ANSYS electronic R&D team responsible for the industry leading simulation tool with the gold standard ANSYS Maxwell simulation software product. We welcome applicants with a strong background in various simulation and modeling techniques with a focus on new FEM algorithms for low frequency electromagnetics applications. The successful candidate will have a solid background in scientific software development, the ability to develop novel solution approaches, and experience in the application of scientific principles to analyzing engineering problems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in planning, architecture, and research
  • Performs complex development activities that require design and implementation of new solver algorithms in C++
  • Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
  • Investigates problems discovered by QA or product support, and develops solutions
  • Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions
  • Works independently with minimal supervision and may take on some planning and mentoring responsibilities
  • May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops but typically does not have direct reports

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2 years’ experience, MS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in computational electromagnetics
  • Strong knowledge of electromagnetic fields and their applications, particularly low frequency electromagnetics
  • Strong knowledge of finite element methods in electromagnetics
  • Knowledge of high-performance computing including domain decompositions techniques
  • Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
