Job summary

EmergingDx Inc. in Lowell, MA, seeks an R&D Electromechanical Engineer to drive end-to-end development of integrated mechanical, electronic and software platforms. You will lead CAD modeling, PCB design, and firmware integration to bring prototypes toward manufacture.

You will own fast-paced, hands-on development across design, testing, and documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable devices for next‑generation platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in complex electromechanical products.
• Strong mechanical design experience using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Demonstrated hands‑on PCB design experience (schematic capture and layout).
• Practical embedded firmware experience.
• Solid understanding of motors, sensors, and electromechanical system integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of electromechanical systems, subsystems and assemblies for smart automated platforms.
• Create detailed CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Design structures, mechanisms, enclosures, mounts, and drivetrain components.
• Perform mechanical analysis (loads, tolerances, materials, thermal considerations).
• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
• Design PCB schematics and layouts for motor control, sensing, actuation, and power electronics.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation.
• Keep strong documentation of process flows and design history files.
