Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Process Engineer for Detonator Production to join the DP-2 group. You will develop and sustain manufacturing and inspection processes for high-explosive detonator subcomponents, interpret drawings, and implement new technologies to reduce cycle times and uncertainties.

The role requires a Master's in Engineering and at least 6 years of related experience, with strong collaboration skills and experience in QA, SPC, and process development.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
6 years of related experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety, security compliance and adhere to laboratory policies.
Support procurement of War Reserve process material with detailed requirements.
Manufacture and test War Reserve detonator assemblies and subcomponents.
Collaborate with engineers to develop solutions and improve processes.
Create training plans and provide OJTs.
Develop tooling/fixturing and monitor process performance.
Document processes through Travelers, QIs and SOPs.
Serve as process SME on cross-functional teams.
