Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Process Engineer for Detonator Production to join the DP-2 group. You will develop and sustain manufacturing and inspection processes for high-explosive detonator subcomponents, interpret drawings, and implement new technologies to reduce cycle times and uncertainties.

The role requires a Master's in Engineering and at least 6 years of related experience, with strong collaboration skills and experience in QA, SPC, and process development.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 6 years of related experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, security compliance and adhere to laboratory policies.
  • Support procurement of War Reserve process material with detailed requirements.
  • Manufacture and test War Reserve detonator assemblies and subcomponents.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop solutions and improve processes.
  • Create training plans and provide OJTs.
  • Develop tooling/fixturing and monitor process performance.
  • Document processes through Travelers, QIs and SOPs.
  • Serve as process SME on cross-functional teams.
