SCOPE
This position involves Mechanical Engineering/Design/Analysis with an emphasis on pneumatic, mechanical and electro-mechanical components/assemblies. The ideal candidate will have some relevant experience in the design, analysis and prototyping of mechanisms which may include linkages, levers, pneumatic devices, solenoid and motor operators. The candidate should have an educational background showing work with analysis and design of mechanical devices and subsystems. Extracurricular activities at school and/or in personal life which emphasize these disciplines will also be considered.
Design experience with CATIA, Creo or SolidWorks and ability to perform structural analysis or system performance simulation analysis is highly desirable. The candidate must be flexible and able to work effectively in a fast paced environment as a member of a cross functional team and as an individual contributor. A successful candidate will be able to show evidence of their capability to excel in performance tasks independently as an individual contributor, and to function well as a member of a cross-functional team.
Skills / Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering
- Must have 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Minimum BSME, BSAE and ability to show coursework and/or experience in design/analysis/development of mechanical or electro-mechanical devices. The candidate should have a basic knowledge of manufacture of mechanical components
- Must be able to demonstrate basic knowledge and experience in creation of design concepts using hand sketches, and CAD tools. CAD experience in CATIA (preferred), Creo or SolidWorks is a plus
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses. Prior assembly or shop experience is a plus.
- Must be able to perform basic measurements and simple inspection processes
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent in written and spoken English
- Must be able to write engineering reports, typically to document analysis and test results. Evidence of accomplishment in self-documentation of work product through technical reports, test reports etc. will be considered as a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products is essential
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
