Job summary

Indium Corporation in Utica/Rome, NY seeks a Co-op Student to support R&D projects under supervision. You will assist in lab work, conduct experiments, and help document procedures while learning formulations with organic chemicals and metal powders.

The role requires sophomore or higher in chemistry or chemical engineering, with lab experience and strong teamwork. Compensation ranges from $17 to $23 per hour, with standard Monday–Friday shifts on 1st shift.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or higher pursuing an applied science Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Holds at least 1 year of chemistry lab experience, including handling hazardous materials.
• Formulating experience with organic or polymer synthesis is preferred but not required.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint for data management.

Responsibilities

• Open and timely communicate with supervisor, materials coordinator, R&D administrator, scientists, engineers, and technicians.
• Clean and distribute glassware and related containers.
• Manage and perform testing using analytical equipment.
• Conduct formulation experiments with organic chemicals and metal powders on different scales.
• Record data and perform preliminary analysis from experiments.
• Assist in planning experiments and in analysis of results.
