Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions is seeking a chemist or chemical engineer to join the Research & Development team. The role focuses on developing and optimizing electroplating chemistries for semiconductor and advanced packaging applications, working with R&D scientists and product teams.

The candidate will conduct experiments, develop new chemistries, and apply electrochemical and data-driven methods to resolve technical challenges while contributing to scale-up and commercialization

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; M.S. preferred.
• 3–5 years in electroplating, semiconductor wet processing or related R&D.
• Hands-on electroplating experience and familiarity with electrochemistry.
• Knowledge of DOE, data analytics, and automation is a plus.
• Experience with TSV, RDL, damascene, or advanced packaging is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lab safety and cultivate a strong safety culture.
• Conduct electroplating chemistry development, formulation, plating experiments, and sample prep.
• Develop electroplating technologies for semiconductor and packaging applications.
• Apply electrochemistry to understand plating mechanisms and deposit properties.
• Design DOE experiments to optimize formulations and process conditions.
• Use data analytics and AI-assisted tools to accelerate R&D productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and scale-up.
