Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking a motivated R&D Engineering Intern to join the Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies team in Maple Grove, MN. You will help design, develop, and validate medical devices while working within a cross‑functional group.

You will gain end‑to‑end exposure to the product development cycle in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to collaborate across engineering disciplines and regulatory affairs. This role requires on‑site work four days weekly.

Qualifications

• Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Pursuing Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must have reliable transportation to Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes) Boston Scientific Corporate location.
• Experience collaborating on an engineering project in school or in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and Testing: Assist in the design and development of medical devices, conducting feasibility studies, developing prototypes, and performing testing and validation.
• Problem‑Solving and Compliance: Support investigations into failure modes, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including project management, process development, quality, marketing, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to engineers and managers.
