Job summary

Wisk is hiring a Software Engineer for our R&D team to advance autonomous flight technology. The role focuses on integrating software modules into surrogate helicopter platforms, automating deployments, and enabling rapid testing in a flight environment.

You will work with engineers to define test plans, collect sensor data, and validate system performance from simulation through flight tests, ensuring end-to-end solutions for autonomous eVTOL operations.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, STEM, or equivalent real-world experience.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Python programming for robotics or related systems.
• Experience with JIRA or similar project management tools.
• Experience with network analysis tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, or iPerf.
• Proficiency with Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with Docker or containerization.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud and BigQuery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a full stack autonomy system for surrogate aircraft.
• Create software for end-to-end testing of embedded sensors from simulation to flight test.
• Collaborate with systems engineers to meet functional and performance requirements of autonomy subsystems.
• Contribute to test plans, collect sensor and ground-truth data, and validate results.
