Job summary

Job description

Our client has an exciting opportunity in their estimating department for a quoting technician. This role will prepare quotations based on customer blueprints and/or samples using established procedures. The Quoting Technician also creates bill of material, routing information and is responsible for final sample part approvals. The quotes will be prepared mostly in Excel using pivot tables and lookup tables. The role will be fast paced, and candidates should feel comfortable being flexible and managing the process from start to finish.

Job Duties

• Quote preparation includes labor steps and identifying material needed to manufacture parts.
• Communicate directly with customers to obtain the necessary specifications needed to prepare a quote.
• Communicate directly with vendors to receive raw material quotes.
• Work closely with production staff ensuring all necessary tooling and materials are in-house before the start of production.
• Prepare the Bill of Material for production flow and continuously update material and labor time.
• Prepare Detailed Assembly Instructions for use in the production process.
• Inspect and approve all sample parts from the production floor.

Required

• Strong excel skills that include the ability to create and use Excel Pivot Tables and Lookup Tables
