Job summary

Weber Knapp Co. in Jamestown, NY, is seeking a Cost Estimator to prepare cost estimates and engineering documentation for new and revised products.

You will gather estimating data, manage RFQs, and input BOM/Routings into the ERP system. The role requires proficiency with SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD, strong Excel skills, Lean manufacturing awareness, and the ability to collaborate across the office and factory floor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Gather/Calculate all estimating data for Sales Cost Requests.

• Obtain and Review Tooling Quotes from Manufacturing/Tool Engineers.
• Input of proposed manufacturing methods into ERP Estimating/Quoting Module.
• Writing Engineering Orders for new products and changes to existing products.
• Input of approved BOM and Routing updates to ERP system.
• Preparation of detailed Process Work Instructions.
• Production print generation and revisions using Solidworks.
• Participate in weekly Sales/Engineering Cost/Design Review Meeting.
• Motion and Time Study for Process Rate Determination.
• Actual cost versus estimated cost audits.

Requirements

Required Qualifications :

• Education – Two-year technical or financial degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
