Job summary

Mercer Zimmerman is the Midwest's leading lighting and controls agency serving architects, designers, engineers, and contractors. We seek a strategic, detail-oriented Quotations professional for our Kansas City office to analyze projects and develop accurate, competitive quotations.

You’ll collaborate with inside and outside sales, manage multiple bids, and turn successful quotes into orders, all while upholding our Do the Right Thing ethos and team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction industry and familiarity with project documents (drawings, schedules, specs, submittals).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Confident communication and negotiation with customers and partners.
• Collaborative, team-first mindset with integrity and Do the Right Thing ethos.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project documents, drawings, schedules, and specs to develop accurate and competitive quotations.
• Prepare budget estimates meeting lighting and lighting controls needs.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Work closely with inside and outside sales to understand requirements, strategy, and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate project, pricing, and bid information throughout the quotation process.
• Identify challenges, propose solutions, and help position the team for success.
• Negotiate effectively with customers and manufacturer partners.
• Help turn successful bids into orders.
