Job summary

Border States is seeking a qualified Quotations Specialist to support bid calculations and pricing for projects in the electrical distribution sector. You’ll collaborate with engineers and customers to align specifications with pricing and delivery needs.

You’ll develop quotations, request bids and bonds, and help ensure timely and accurate responses within company profit guidelines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a business or trade degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.
• Minimum of four years of prior customer service, quotation or sales experience with strong knowledge of lighting, electrical products and systems preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and pricing policies preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, SAP software and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Performs takeoffs of bids and pricing functions for items such as fixtures, lighting, lamps and specialty equipment.
• Uses senior knowledge to determine product specs, applications and pricing for projects.
• Collaborates with engineers and customers to meet changing business needs and resolve issues.
• Guides and supports the quotation process for each assigned project.
• Provides timely follow-up on technical inquiries and pricing requests from customers.
• Develops quotations and bids within company profit objectives and guidelines.
• Coordinates with Border States staff to resolve billing issues from quotations and pricing.
• Maintains an active log of bids and outcomes including vendors and contractors.
